Cheap & good stereo zoom microscope for manipulating protein crystals?

Hi All,

Could anyone suggest a economic & good stereo zoom microscope that can allow me to inspect & manipulate protein crystals (with the cryoloops)? We don't need polarized light. As long as we can see the crystals properly would do.

I wonder why microscopes specifically for protein crystals are so expensive ($3000-4000) while I can find stereo zoom microscopes at $300 in eBay?

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

zeiss is the best option for protein crystals but it is way too expensive. My next suggestion would be leica microsystems and olympus which should fit in your budget. Exact model I can't tell because these days they offer different customization options.
