In machining monitoring:

Is chatter detection included in TCM? If it is the case, why literature usually reports only tool wear and tool break in TCM, and chatter detection is being studied as a different or parallel monitoring system? Why are chatter and tool wear in condition monitoring reported separately?

For example, there is some literature in the last year related to "development of a monitoring system for chatter detection", instead of presenting it as a new or additional function of a TCM.

Thanks a lot for your time and answer.
