With the aim of preparing supported carbon membranes, we are looking for samples of porous alumina in the form of small plates (max 4 cm x 4 cm), with a very smooth surface, and having well-defined pore-size distributions, preferably within the range 100 nm to 10 µm. Of course, we would like to test different pore sizes, so plates with different but homogeneous porous textures in the aforementioned range are desired. Any suggestion of companies able to supply such kinds of materials would be most welcome.

These are quite nice materials, thank you for the suggestion. However, I am afraid by their expected cost and they are also too thin: they will be broken for sure in my application. Less ordered pores, with not-so-strict pore sizes but in the same range, in thicker alumina plates (about 1 mm) would be OK.
