I am doing hand dissections of monocot leaves and I do manage quite well but I would perform better if the leaf is harder and would not cushion down or tear apart when I slice by hand using a razor blade. I can get down to 0.2mm thickness but I know I can achieve more narrow transversal sections if the leaves are more stiff. I need an easy method that can be carried out at home. What do you suggest please? I want to do measurements on the plant tissue.
