I'm asking because a plate vortexer cannot dislodge the yeast pellet in a 384-well plate even at the highest speeds. I do not want to manually mix all wells but want to get an accurate read of cell density for a particular assay. Will the Calcofluor white diffuse through the entire pellet if left to incuabte long enough? If so, will the Calc white harm the cells in any way?

Thanks
