Can you recommend simulations/games for statistics as an in-class activity for undergrad students to teach them statistics, probability, distributions etc. as well as enjoying?
Buy each student a die and get them to all throw simultaneously. Each row must add their results and pass it to the person at the end of the row. You total and record the sum of the totals of the rows on the computer and you project this with a data projector. Do your grand totals approximate a normal distribution?
A colleague and I have written about some inquiry activities for undergraduate students in Teacher Education that help them understand some statistical concepts. I recommend them! :-)
