In the literature of continuum mechanics, this book sometimes is called "the Monster". some others call it (and the Non-classical field theories by Treusdell and Noll) "the bibles of continuum mechanics".
I want to know that is there any modern textbook on continuum mechanics as much as comprehensive and thorough as this book?

In my opinion, "Nonlinear Theory of Continuous Media" by Eringen is a comprehensive reference book in which almost all continuum-related subjects are covered. Moreover, unlike the above-mentioned books, the author attempts to avoid referring to complicated mathematical aspects of continuum mechanics.
I agree with the recommendation of Eringen's book. But I have also come to like " The Mechanics and Thermodynamics of Continua" by ME. Gurtin.
