There are several preparation methods that can help in providing high surface dispersion of Bi or W oxides in titania. This seems critical for the systems mentioned. We using microemulsionmfor a single pot preparation. Here examples of the two systems mentioned.
WO3 possesses low quantum efficiency due to unsuitability of CB potential to reduce O2. If you are able to prepare its composite with, for example, TiO2, you may observe a synergistic effect/performance enhancement. In your case, your preparation protocol was unable to lead to a synergistic effect. Hypothetically, the accumulated electrons in WO3 CB can be transferred to TiO2. Hence, charge carriers recombination is suppressed and performance enhancement is observed. Did you work with solar, UV or visible light ?
I worked with UV at wavelength of 350 and i observed that the catalyst changed his color from yellow to green or blue. I do not know what is the reason for that, please. If there is a problem in this method, can you recommend a good method for preparation of WO3/TiO2. Is it OK to use sol gel method?
How can I prevent the reduction of W from 6+ to other state during photocatalysis process. I saw color change of catalyst during the time of photocatalysis. I think this means that there is a reduction of W and it can consume electrons so it does not degrade the organic pollutant
