Dear All,

I am modeling a Reinforced Concrete Beam using a smeared cracking model in ABAQUS, and simulating a four point bend test(2 point loading), and currently my model is too stiff compared to the experimental results. I am experiencing following problems and I would request the experts to help me solve these issues one by one,

1)      Loading:-

Assuming I don’t know at what point the beam is going to fail, I want the software to apply load to my beam till the sample fails.

How may I define this in ABAQUS?

2)      Stiffness in model:

My model is way too stiff, compared to the experimental results and I’ve tried everything to make it less stiff. I have attached the file with this post.

3)      Cracking Behavior:

I want to see how the cracks develop for the given loading conditions. How should I achieve that?

I have attached my file below, please check my model and suggest any improvements. The model also shows a lot of warnings, what could further be done to make it better?

Looking forward to your suggestions!
