Good Day!
Please refer to the GIF image below. I am trying to measure the increasing diameter of the circle here. I have to do it using MATLAB/ SIMULINK. The red stripes can be classified as noise. Is there any good way to find it? I have tried to use region props and Iamfindcricles, they do not seem to help since we donot have a defined circle in this case.
Can anybody help me out?

I would just find the bounding box of all the black pixels and take the width as the diameter of the black circle...
Imfindcircles would not work unless you have the radius given !!!
If you can code , isolate a frame and take the edges and use Harrisdetector for localizing or identifying the boundaries . Then use parametric circle equation.e.g found in my RG page.
imfindcircles should work (since it uses the hough transform) but you do have to define a range of radii. I just ran the sample code on an image with a circle I corrupted, and it seemed to work. (See attached)
@Dan, I donot actually have a fixed radius range in my case. The diameter constantly increases. I think the idea of bounding box will work here
Usman, please, post a real image of you problem like you sent me personally. What people can see in this public thread is deceptively simple compared to your real case and you might be missing valuable insight from people by showing them over simplified images...
