Hello. Can you detect levels (pg/ml) of TNFa and IL-1B in LPS stimulated primary rat astrocytes by using a western blot? If yes, what is the optimal concentration of LPS and how long should the cells be incubated in it? Is there a particular TNFa antibody I should buy?

Yes. It depends on how much is TNF alpha upregulated (foldchange). You may also check the mRNA or TNF alpha (expression at RNA level) by realtime PCR. You may also do IHC/ICC to visulize its expression. One more way is flow cytometry.
