If you have a cell line obtained from patients diagnosed with a mutation on certain gene (with premature truncation protein). Can you observe the band of this gene on RT-PCR.
If you found it with faint signal , what can that tell you ?
Hi, as far as I understand your question you also asked why there are some faint bands, right?! Maybe you used to less template (DNA) or too much DNA in your PCR. Cheers, Nadine
The RT-PCR detects the expression level of you gene. If your detected mutated gene have less faint band than normal, this means that this mutation affect the expression of the gene. You can see the attached paper for similar approach but for Genomic retrotrasposons
