To preserve eDNA filters (e.g., Sterivex filters) for eDNA studies of metazoans, the two most common preservation methods of these filters are, after water filtration, either:

- frozen at -80°C

- kept at 4°C after a Longmire's solution was added to the filter

Does anyone have ever tried or know of a study where a Longmire's solution was add to the filters AFTER those where already preserved for a period at -80°C , to facilitate transportation of those filters?
