Can yeast use Aqds as a redox mediator similar to bacteria?

Many organic dyes such as methylene blue, thionine and neutral red can be used as electron shuttles by yeast. Has anyone ever studied alternative redox shuttles like aqds with yeast? Is it toxic to them like certain quinones?
