There is a set of standard procedures one should fellow in order to conduct tests on samples. If the NACE 1D182, Wheel Test Method Used for Evaluation of Film-Persistent Corrosion Inhibitors for Oilfield Applications (2005 Edition), said so, you can use it at the end of the wheel test.

Actually you can not do LPR on dirty corroded surface . You should start with clean homogeneous surface in order to accurately determine the corrosion rate of the system . The other thing is that corrosion is not always homogeneous, which means the surface of the specimen after wheel test might not have the same composition as a fresh new metal sample .

First of all I should say I completely agree with Wadah Jawich. Obviously the results will not be reliable, as well as this I couldn't understand why you are insisting on LPR after wheel test. Consider that NACE 1D 182 is a very good test method for evaluating corrosion inhibitors in different conditions and it is very similar to Oilfield conditions , but LPR is a kind of academic test (NACE 1D 196) for evaluating Corrosion inhibitors in laboratory scale. All in all, you need to have two separate solution with the same composition if you want to compare your results at the end of the tests and remember that wheel test is very very dependent on technician, and you should consider it.
