My interest is to find out if the protein folding pathway using nanoparticles within a cell is possible, so that I can track the protein conformational change and find a common pattern of folding phenomenon of protein folding. Nanoparticles are my first choice as they are found to interact with may biomacromolecules efficiently and also have properties superior than any fluoroscence dye.
What is your plan to get nanoparticles into the cells? (this is not easy)
Misha is right. But there is another more serious problem. How will you ensure that your nanoparticles bind the protein you are interested in? Antibodies? And then, what will your readout to determine folding patterns be? I don't think your idea is viable.
