I am wondering whether it is possible to stain tumor cell line with CFSE and analyze in vivo proliferation within 2 or 3 weeks, of course.
CFSE it is used for lymphocyte in vivo tracking and proliferation, but I cannot find any paper for tumor cell CFSE staining for assessing in vivo proliferation.

CFSE randomly labels proteins in the cell, this could influence the proteins' function and hence is not recommended for long-term study. Also, after you wash out the CFSE, the signal will be diluted as the cell divides, hence the signal intensity will become 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, and etc. after multiple rounds of cell division.

by using CFSE I was able to track up to 7 cell divisions following stimulation of primary B cells. That was across 1 week and with high concentrations of CFSE (10µM).
Doubt very much that is possible to track more cell divisions and CFSE signal won't be above your unstained cells after that.
And I wouldn't use a concentration of CFSE above 10µM which was already high.

May be I am late to reply you on this matter but there are some dyes now available for such cell tracing like DiD for in vivo. Below in this article they performed a comparison also with CFSE.

However its all depend on proliferation rate of your cells. I personally using PKH26 dye as well for in vitro studies.
