I wanna do work simultaneously on fungal as well as bacterial. I know contamination chances will be there but is it possible by some means that I can culture both in same laminar following some steps in between handling them
i remember that one of my friend was working in the laminar flow hood, doing some culture of aspergillus niger and penicillium expansum, when he finished the work i did some bacterilal culture in some petri dish plates after that i foun a fungal contamination in my plates and this is was due to the presence of fungal spores in the hood, so for me i advice you to start by bacterial culture and when you finish do your fungla culture. take in the acount to do a UV sterilisation befor and after each step .
No you cannot, is either you work with the bacteria first and disinfect and sterilize with the UV, after which you can proceed with the fungi. This is to avoid cross contamination.
