There are many ways to include distance and signal arrival information when modeling the wireless channel. One of them is the log-distance path-loss model for which there are well-developed equations available in the literature. I have also used that model in my research work. You can refer to my work or

other similar models in the literature.

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I am simulating a spectrum sensing technique. So I am transmitting some symbols on the transmitter and trying to sense them at the receiver. Now I am trying to use the knowledge of the distance (TX to RX) to improve the spectrum sensing technique. That's why I want to include the impact of the channel (both fading and path loss (distance) effects) in my simulation.

I would advise to use the Quadriga toolbox to generate channel impulse response according to many standard model of the literature (3GPP for instance). You will see that the toolbox takes the TX and RX location as an input.

To model only a light of sight wireless communication channel you need to take into consideration the inverse square power law for the signal power attenuation such that Pr= Pt/4 pi x^2 , where x is the distance between the transmitter and the receiver. The channel then becomes h^2= 1/ 4pi x^2. If there is shadowing and multipath effects, the channel h will be changed to Rician model or Rayleigh model. There is an empirical model for the wireless channel which is the Nakagani-m channel model. All these models can be found in the literature.
