Please give your opinion, current trends and techniques. In future, genomic data privacy is an essential thing when sharing or publishing for research and statistical analysis.
The problem of genome data privacy is of great concern not just for the individual but also for blood relatives. The expectation of privacy under these terms have to be measured not just from an individual perspective(an individual will give away his privacy if he sees a benefit) but from a group perspective. This point of view have to be considered in legislation since the individual may harm the group by opting to free his information.
In terms of current trends, I recently read "An Evaluation of the Current State of Genomic Data Privacy Protection Technology and a Roadmap for the Future" Bradley A Malin and it discloses what I imagined, that current trends of privacy preserving techniques implemented to protect such data are not enough.
