This is can be successfuly carried out by soaking plant tissue in    n-hexane mixed with 50% ethanol  for three days defating will nearly happen and most  plant fats will move to hexane layer

 At the top left of page 57 of the reference below, you will find a procedure for defatting plant extracts. I think it is worth trying. Fats, in general, are solube in ethanol/ether mixture but I do not recommend this mixture because it is expected to separate other ingredients of the plant extract besides the fatty materials.
