In case of rainwater if bicarbonate ion is not measured directly then what are the other processes to calculate bicarbonate ion concentration for a particular rain event?
Thank you Arindam. I have found another relation between pH and bicarbonate like HCO3-= 10^(pH-5.05). Is this appropriate to use this kind of relation?
To calculate Bicarbonate values, both pH and alkalinity vales must first be determined. Total dissolved solids also play a key role in final calculation. For if the TDS< 500mg/L, then total alkalinity shall be used for estimation. If TDS> 500mg/L, then bicarbonate is estimated from phenophalein alkalinity
