Vortex can simulate two models of inbreeding depression, i.e. the overdominance model (= heterozygote advantage), and dominance model (= recessive deleterious mutations). The genetic load caused by overdominance effects cannot be purged by inbreeding, whereas recessive lethal alleles can be purged by inbreeding. Reading the manual and literature on Vortex, I believe that when the user asks it to simulate the dominance model, it simulates completely recessive (h=0) lethal alleles (s=1).
