I have trouble searching for researches that uses UV treatment on agricultural products. It is mainly used for liquid disinfection so I'm curious if it can work on opaque organic products.
UV rays do not have any penetration power to opaque surfaces. The shorter the wavelength respectively the higher the energetic level of UV rays, the lower the penetration capability. E.g. UV-A rays do have a much higher penetration power compared to UV-C rays. I attached a good explanation from our web. Even though it is in German you'll understand it."Haut" does mean "human skin".
