This is an intriguing project and I would like to support by sharing data. As you know we sually perform ReTURB because of the lack of muscle in the chips after TURB. How did you imagine this project?
I also consider that this project could be interesting in evaluating how reliable we could actually consider TUR-B and above all Re-TURB in the diagnosis of muscle invasive bladder cancer.
I agree with Thomas that it would be more appropriate and a valid a prospective trial.
I completely agree with Professor Hermann and Professor Greco on the great value of a prospective study. However, I would like to underline one potential advantage of performing a retrospective study: the possibility to gather preliminary information about the incidence of early recurrences especially in patients with a pTa TCC bladder tumor with no detrusor muscle in the specimen after TURBT in comparison with patients whose specimen includes the detrusor muscle. This could represent valuable background information for the implementation of the design of a prospective study on this yet underexplored topic.
I offer my complete collaboration to develop this project and to share data.
