I am studying about CZTS thin films for solar cells. I intend to use ultra-thin MoS2 as replacement to conventional CdS buffer layer. Can ultra-thin MoS2 act as a potential buffer layer for CZTS solar cell? Please, give me some information about it and show me the energy band diagram of MoS2/CZTS. Thank you all!

Please consider:
1. Bandgap of both CZTS and MoS2. In the case of MoS2, it has an indirect bandgap except the monolayer system.
2. Possible lattice missmatch during growth or fabrication.

Ultrathin MoS2 in form of momolayer structure can be used as a window layer for CZTS absorber solar cell material since the mono layer of MoS2 approaches the properties of CdS where he bandgap of MoS2 is about 1.85 eV [1] which is greater than that of the CZTS absorber of about 1.4 eV [2].As the number of layers of MoS2 increases its bandgap decreases and it is no longer suitable as a window layer.How ever the CdS may work much better because the wider bandgap of about 2.42 eV [3]
