The recent uprising in smartphone use have increased the rate of digital photo taking and sharing on social media platforms. I am curious to know if factors resident in 'Self' (Self concept, self image, self-esteem, self-compassion and perception respectively) can moderate how deaf individuals receives and share photos on cyber communities. I will appreciate scholars who can share published articles on photo sharing among deaf.
yes. the selfie sharing has a lot of impact on components of self. in my research, i have observed that having a high self concepts reduces one's chances of clicking photos and posting them on Social media. Now coming to the specific population you have referred, I'm sure the component should be strongly associated. though I couldn't find much research, but yes, it should have a great impact. Since using social media is one important way of communicating, especially to those population, that wants to connect to the world, and are willing to communicate more with the world. so posting photos is a nice way for deaf people to communicate without much hurdles with people and hence fulfill their needs of contentedness.
