Hello dear all, I am working with a time series of guanaco (Lama guanicoe) densities and I intend to apply a population model to it; I have total densities without ages or stages structures. First I intend to adjust a logistic model, but then searching for some other possibilities I started to think in the Ricker equation because in the logistic model “if r is sufficiently large, not only could N(t+1) be less than N(t), but it could be negative” (mangel 2006; The Theoretical Biologist’s Toolbox) But this equation has a parameter related to recruitment and another parameter related to the strength of density dependence, so I am not sure if it is possible to apply this equation to total densities without stage structure. Does anyone have experience with this equation?
