Your question is not well formulated. As far as I understand you are asking whether the singlet oxygen would react with 4 M KI before decomposing. The lifetime of 1O2 in water is about 50 microseconds, which is most likely long enough to react with iodide.
Thank you. To formulate the question more precisely: if taurine chloramine at 0.5-1 mM (final blood conc.) is used as a drug against a lipid-enveloped virus, it would be recommedable to check the oxidative power of this drug prior to Infusion.
Now, I do not understand how is a singlet oxygen related to taurine chloramine. Chloramine is a moderate oxidant under neutral pH and may react (as well as a singlet oxygen) with numerous compounds in a blood sample. AS far as I understand you should do control experiments.
