I will to compute land surface temperature(LST) from landsat etm imagery. Can the Landsat 7 ETM+ SLC-off data be used to compute land surface temperature because these products have data gaps ? thanks
Landsat 7 has only one thermal band that can shows the thermal spatial variability on the earth. When you need more accurate estimation of surface temperature you need to rely on more thermal bands for atmospheric absorption correction.
I suggest that you refer to the following link for more information:
It has a technical report of sea surface temperature derived from MODIS remote sensed data. You will find valuable information on how we can estimate surface temperature using thermal bands.
I get some useful help. The Landsat 7 ETM+ SLC-off data gap fill algorithm shouldn't be used. Meanwhile, I want to ask how the surface temperature by landsat algorithm do accuracy assesment. Can I use MOD product to evaluate?
