I have submitted a manuscript almost five months ago to one of springer journals with good impact factor. Yesterday the editor drop me an email which says revise and resubmit it, highlight your changes in red color. However, I have got a very general comments uploaded us "reviewer 3"in a half ms office page. I think the other two reviewers were non-committal.
Due you think decision based on only one reviewer is appropriate?

Decision on manuscripts are usually subjective. The appropriateness of relying on a single reviewer comment cannot be judged by a third party aside the Editor-in-Chief. If the Editor feels satisfied with a single reviewer comment they can base on that to make a decision. Remember, the Editors are more or less reviewers themselves and they sometimes add their comments to the comments from the two or three reviewers.

If I am getting you right, you mean the editor only indicated revise and resubmit? If that is so I think is good. Can you tell me the period required for you to resubmit? And what was the decision, major or minor revision request? I think I can provide further suggestions when furnished with these information.
