I have gone through several literature, says that gut fluorescence method using phytoplankton ingestion technique. But I didn't get a clear picture of this methodology, can somebody help me?
The book "ICES Zooplankton Methodology Manual" covers some of the most commonly used methods in zooplankton study including grazing. Beware that gut fluorescence method should be used only for mesozooplankton feeding on phytoplankton. If your target species is a predatory species or omnivorous species, gut fluorescence method won't suit you. For microzooplankton you may consider the 'dilution technique' which is also explained in the book.
Have a look here. It tells you about the method to measure grazing rates in copepods. Nowadays we have modified the incubation times to 0, 10, 20, 30 and 60 minutes instead of the incubation times mentioned in the paper
