Hayder Dibs Well basically what I am doing is comparing two different rasters. The first one is an NDVI raster that was produced with multispectral images taken with a UAS. The second raster is an NDVI raster produced from satellite imagery (PlanetScope). I have these two rasters already; now I have to find a method to statistically compare them. So I´m looking for a journal article that I could cite in my research so I can support the methodology section.

Hey! You don't need to cite any references, because the tool Raster Calculator in ArcGIS is very simple. By the way, You can always to cite online Help from ArcGIS. I think, if You want to compare both rasters - just minus first from the second, and than You will see the spatial differences (where are the differences) and value differences (how big they are). I agree with Bartłomiej Szypuła . You do not need to provide references to use the raster calculator. This is simply a function of the program. I would even say that you should not give references to online Help from ArcGIS - this is not a scientific publication. From here I understand the desire to find a scientific publication where someone has already done something similar.

The Raster Calculator will actually show you the differences in pixel values, but it may be too detailed for you, and it will be hard to work on it. Maybe you can use the Raster Compare function, which, under certain conditions and tolerance range, will show you if the rasters are different - true / false. However, if you want to compare them globally, without details of where the differences are, then I recommend converting data e.g. to point shapefiles and analyze attribute tables in a statistical program - as differences in datasets.
