I am working on LNOI waveguides (thin film LN). I would like to know is there any means of selecting the crystal cut in Lumerical? Also, how to simulate the electro-optic effect in LN waveguide? The closest I could find is ferroelectric waveguide modulator which uses BaTiO2 .
Ii will be very helpful if someone working in the related area can suggest.

I don't think lumerical gives you that option. You may have to manually create the index profile for the diffused region. Equation 33-36 on section V of "Finite-element modeling of broad-band traveling-wave optical modulators" by M. Koshiba et al should give you an insight on how to compute the index profile as a function of x and y position. It also describes the orientation of the ordinary and extraordinary axes for an x-cut LNB. I hope this helps

Thank you so much for your time and suggestion. It was helpful. A small clarification, that I am not using diffused waveguides, instead it is the LN on insulator structure similar to Silicon on insulator. If I want an X-cut substrate, then I will include diagonal anisotropy in the material of lumerical with nx = ny = no and nz = ne. Is this correct?
