I done GC-MS for cooking oil and i got this results on th attach picture.
my question is on peak 1,2,3 i got 9-octadecanoic acid, methyl ester ( on 6)
o 2 I got octadecanoic, 3-[(1-oxa hexadecyl)oxa]-2-[(1-x tetradecyl]propyl ester and on 3 I got octadecanoic, 2-(octadecyl oxy ethyl ester
are they difrent and can you show me the formula for them and what should I writ for these peak?
You can't always trust the NIST library report especially in the column bleed section with all the interference and when the peaks are small. You need to run a standard like Supelco 35 or whatever it is and figure out manually what peak is what at each retention time based on published order of elution for whatever column you are using. My guess looking at your chromatogram is you have some unesterfied fee acids eluting after the methyl esters.
