There are 2 options to create the CZM at the interface. All work to me.

1. For my Horizontal interface, I use:

Be advised that selection (nodes, ele) is critical important.

When i used the CZMESH between same element types, no problem works perfect.

Question is, Have you tried any CZMESH between different element types (say 185 and 190)? or this is not supported by ANSYS, so  getting error because of trying to CZMESH between different element types?

I believe the element types of the 2 parts should be the same, never try the other case. I used plane183 and inter203.

Well, It's a long time ago and I am trying to remember what I did. Yes, you can use this approach but you need esurf. For example:

For some reason, I switched to the other approach, which uses the inter203 elements and CZMESH. It worked.

I am working with 3D elements (inter205 between solid65 and solid45) and I have the same problem: "Elements to be separated by cohesive elements are of more than one stiffness number (45 and 65, perhaps, more)".

The esurf command is just for 2D elements. I am new in Ansys and I don't know any command that I can use for the same effect you got, but for 3D elements. Can you help me?

I am working with shell 181 and solid 185 elements and i am selecting elements to solve the problem and then i am using inter 205 to do it but it says not supported for shell but inter 203 is not supported for solid.

Could you help me here
