Presume you mean trials, not trails? It's toxic to many insects, esp. in adult form. For controlling olive fly:
"The (spinosad) solution needed to treat 1 ha of surface is prepared by diluting 1L Spintor Fly in 4L of water, so in total 5L of solution per ha. Before the application it is recommended to pre-mix the solution in a container."
The foliage is treated; all trees on the perimeter, and some on the interior, of a plot (see Dow website on Spintor Fly).
"The treatments should be performed every 8-12 days, depending on the level of infestation, but it is recommended not to exceed the range of 8 days at times of maximum infestation. Avoid dealing before a rain, and if there is a rain event over 4-5 ml, it is suggested to repeat the treatment as soon as possible."
