I need an alternative to the use of standard curve for the determination of hemozoin content in the blood of malaria patient.
Alternatively, you can isolate and purify hemozoin from blood and quantify spectrophotometrically as described in the article attached.
Spectrophotometrically quantify purified hemozoin by measuring optical density either in a Beckman DU-640 cuvette with a 1 cm path-length with a molar extinction coefficient at 400 nm of 1 × 10^5 or in a Perkin Elmer HTS 7000 96 well plate reader in 200 μl with molar extinction coefficient of 5.7 × 10^4 with a 405 nm filter (Pisciotta et al., 2017).
