I want to use the linear spectral mixture model through end member selection. But now many researchers all use envi remoted sensing software. I found the puried pixels selection tools in envi is inconvenient. For example, there are so many roofs with different colors. The puried pixels usually select one of the roofs as the end member. It dont represent the all roof imperviousness. Is there the other soft tools to select end member ,eg, erdas. How does it operate?
Thanks for your answer. My end goal is to get impervousness through landsat tm imagery based on the method of linear spectral mixture models. I will use image pure pixels selection method. So I firstly select end member using google earth. I digitize the vector of imperviousness which include the pure pixels. Then, I import the vector to envi as the end member. But there are all kinds of imperviousness in the google earth. I will get many pure pixels vectors on landsat tm. But as you know, it seems Lsmm method dont unmix many end members.
Choosing suitable endmembers is a vital step in spectral unmixing. You first need to concentrate information in fewer bands with lower correlation between them!
After the removal of correlated bands, in ENVI, usually PPI is used to find the purest pixels (from those MNF bands with highest eigan values).
Selection of spectral library from the image is more recommended than using from standard spectral libraries!
