I want to buy a non-cancerous intestinal epithelial cell line. I am interested in: CCD841CoN and FHC (both from ATCC). However, I would like to know the opinion of researchers who have worked with them.
FHC cell line needs DMEM:F12 Medium and the following components:
extra 10 mM HEPES (for a final conc. of 25 mM)
10 ng/ml cholera toxin
0.005 mg/ml insulin
0.005 mg/ml transferrin
100 ng/ml hydrocortisone
fetal bovine serum (FBS) 10%(final conc.)
However, CCD841CoN cell line only needs Eagle's Minimum Essential Medium supplemented with 10% FBS
I imagine that is easier (and cheaper) work with CCD841CoN than with FHC. Nevertheless, I found more publications with FHC.
Can anybody give me his/her opinion about these cell lines?

Unfortunately, I did not buy any of these cells lines, so I have never worked with them.
