Supposedly, basal foraging strategy in cyprinids is benthivory. Other more specialized mode of feedings (piscivory, planktivory, plant feeding, detritivory, scraping feeding, some else?) should originate during evolution. Can somebody recommend a literature in that relation - evolving and diversification of foraging strategies in cyprinids (Cyprinidae) or other extended families?
