we are trying to set the amount of lettuce we have to supply according to the SIZE or DRY WEIGHT (without shell) of P. canaliculata; all we found was the information related to the wet weight of the snail. We need the relation between dry and wet weight or between the last the shell length. Thank you
Dear Ana, This may already have been done, if not for Pomacea canaliculata, then almost certainly for Helix aspersa.
To do it yourself, you need to extract a size series of snails from their shells, weigh them wet and then dry them slowly to a constant weight. This will give you a graph of wet to dry weight. If you measure shell length, you will have the other requirement. Best wishes, Julian
