I am developing user material subroutines for anisotropic damage in orthotropic material in ANSYS APDL. So I would like to delete the elements when the damage of an element reaches a maximum value or full damage. I am storing the time history of the damage variables as internal state variables. I know the EKILL command is used to kill the element when the element reaches a certain condition. But I don't know how to access the state variables of each element during the solution phase from the APDL script and execute the EKILL command when the state variable i.e., the damage reaches a maximum value. So it would be really helpful if someone can help me with this.
Frankly, I have never done this, but I used APDL earlier... From that experience i would suggest this..
First u need to put all element in a table.. Then from this table select element whose damage is say 1..and then delete...
So first you need to collect damage variable data in a table.. For that u could use command like..
ETABLE, XYZ, CDM, DMG
So after that u will have a table of element with damage variable.. And then select element with damage variable 1 or 0..whatever u want and then delete...
I am not sure whether it will solve ur issue or not.. But u could move further.. Similarly u could do with state variables also..

you should bring your criteria in a table and select elelmtns by using ETABLE commands, and then use EKILL for selected elelments:
ETABLE, Lab, Item, Comp, Option Fills a table of element values for further processing.
