Since in the near future I will be a laboratory instructor, and in this lab there are many experiments which are not related to my research field, therefore I am experiencing difficulties to understand basic concepts.

One of the experiments related to the thermal imaging. So I have few questions on this topic:

(a)What are the difficulties in the imaging through atmosphere?

(b)What is the wavelength interval for the best imaging through atmosphere?

(c)What is the difference between a contrast of the camera in the visible light and in the infra red light? Where we have batter contrast? Why?

(d)Which techniques are used for three-dimensional imaging in IR?

Thank you in advance!
