It will depend on the element you are using. For instance CdS can be hazardous if it is inhaled and Cd itself is toxic also. So you have to check the properties of the material you are intended to work with.
keeping a nanoparticle dispersion in its liquid host is generally quite safe for operators and users inasmuch as droplet emission and aerosolization is under control or, in some case, fully prevented.
Vapourization is generally not a problem, because a liquid environment is needed to carry the dispersed nanoparticles, that is a droplet, even if very small, is needed.
on the contrary, whenever a spraying is forced (even a mist or hypermist spraying), nanoparticles ar carried by the aerosol and can eventually enter human tissues (for example, thru inhalation).
As a consequence, whenever a process step (in research as well as in industrial production) has the potential to generate spraying of a liquid dispersion under process, safety procedures and devices must be used, with protocols that account for process flow/equipment, working environment and hazardness of the involved materials (CdS nanoparticles are truly dangerous even in small conentration, TiOx NPs are not so dangerous in concentrations typical of a liquid dispersion, etc). By the way, do not forget that the same host liquid can be dangerous, even much, much more than the dispersed NPs.
I really doubt you would form any aerosols. If you stir very quickly you might form droplets. Therefore go ahead and stir at room temperature at an appropriate speed. Pouring has an even lower chance.
