Usually the solar dryer does not use due to some limit of solar dryer, such as the solar intensity is not always same the whole day, and throughout the year, complex and heavy design of solar dryer, the time-consuming process, cannot use for mass production. On the contrary, the traditional dryer is used to work in the industry but there is heavy consumption of electricity. How can we change this tradition and make it easy to use for farmer ? Do you have any idea how we can use solar energy as a dryer?
In large urban or national scale, an alternative indirect approach to solve such problems is to invest in and pay attention to clean ways of electricity production (e.g., solar, nuclear power plants, etc).

What is a solar dryer ? What should it dry ? (I asking that because I am not an expert in the field). I remember a recent paper by two chinese researchers, dealing with an air conditioning scheme based on air drying by zeolites, who were regenerated with solar heat. (the dried air was then humified with water to obtain ideal temperature and humidity suited for conditioning). The temperature span was reduced, between 25 C in the conditioned ambient and 50C during regeneration. The energy balance was competitive to usual mechanical conditioning. Sorry for my detour.

First is energy transfer process in which process energy transfer depends on the external factor such humidity, air flow speed, ambient pressure and surface area exposed to drying. this energy receive from the sun energy (thermal energy) in from of heat.

This mean that moisture desorption from the product and the absorption of the ambient-air content is in dynamic equilibrium between them.
Desiccant is a hygroscopic substance that induce or sustain a state of dryness (desiccation) in its vicinity, it is the opposite of humectant, commonly encountered prepackaged desiccant are solid that absorb water. Its principle of working such as chemical bonding of water molecular. Some desiccant is chemically insert, other are extremely reactive specialized handling technique. Most common desiccant is silica, charcoal, calcium sulfate(drierite), calcium chloride and molecular sieves (typically, zeolites ).

The simple answer is - no. But, it can certainly used to save energy that may be consumed otherwise. It also depends where is the plant located.
@ Ioana Ionel , Waste energy is a good option for classic dryer but is it reliable for it? most wastes to energy processes generate electricity and/or heat directly through combustion, or produce a combustible fuel commodity, such as methane, methanol, ethanol, etc. This will not be a good option because after combustion, fine particles, acid gas and fly ash emit. It will be a threat to human health and the environment. While solar energy, wind energy, and hybrid energy are good alternatives for processing heat and electrical energy. Which can be used for solar drying.
I do not want to argue with you. All what you mention is clear, but BAT exist to get all pollutants *out* - this is not any more a problem. There are lot of cases in EU where waste energy is exhausted, as no heat is necessary on spot- usually only electricity. Also the thermodynamic lows are permitting the heat utilization, but this is not always also economically. Under a specific legislation it can turn into a *good* one.

As I am not the expert of this area so I can't put the concrete statement. But, it seems that at this stage solar dryers are not capable to fulfill the requirements of industrial production (Mass or batch) due to non-uniform distribution of light intensity. However, the possibilities with better designs can not be neglected.
