If certain fluorescence experiments are done in field and the soft and degradable tissue materials (brain, liver etc.) need to be transported to laboratory (24 hr travel time), can the material be submerged in glycerol in PCR tubes (0.1 mL volume) and shield in dry ice, and then transported for confocal imaging?
N.B.: The fluorophores absorbed in tissues in filed are stable for one month.
