In what way can social science theories contribute to medical education research? According to Frank (2013), "the social science theory is what allows us to connect research to the fate of our times. " With such views in mind, should researchers spent more time in applying theories about society and examining how such approaches could improve medical education? Or should we study students' reaction to what they are taught and listen to their views? The social context in learning and the delivery of the curriculum cannot be ignored, and these areas are not adequately examined in medical education research.
