I want to know that i work on diabetes related cognitive decline model and my study design end after 9th week of STZ induced diabetes in SD rats. I come across a question that SD rats are prone to visual impairments and develops diabetes associated visual defects.

I used NORT experiments and in familiarization phase rats behave similarly as shown preference to both same object, while when novel object placed it spent more time on familair object.

Does this study need more control experiments to overcome visual impairments or is it enough to support my data
