I think Research Gate can act as an effective alternative or even can act better than Thomson Reuters in the works of Journal Indexing, Journal Ranking, Citation calculation and giving some Score to the Journals.

Sorry, I do not agree with it now. The functions of Thomson Reuters and RG are entirely different. If RG ensures strict QC then may be it can be a good one rather than alternative. Still it seems to me as a social media for sharing research activities, findings, articles, thoughts and so on with a huge collections of resources including members.
Maintaining QC and indexing parameters are far beyond. However, thanks for a nice question indeed.

Present system of Journal Indexing, Journal Ranking, Citation calculation by RG is based on the publications uploaded on RG only. Yes, it 'CAN' be better if RG broaden this system considering QC at the same time as mentioned by Dear Rahman.
